Neil Cowieson
Founder and Executive Director

Neil is a Chartered Organisational Psychologist, achieving a Masters with Distinction in Organisational Psychology in 1990. Based in Hong Kong, he has led the growth and development of Human Scope since founding the company in 2005. He is a highly sought-after Executive Coach and Facilitator, and a recognised specialist in the fields of assessment, talent management, and leadership development.

 

As an Executive Coach, Neil has coached senior executives in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific up to CEO and MD level for organisations across a wide range of industries, in both the public and private sectors.

 

Prior to forming Human Scope, Neil was Head of HR Development, Asia Pacific for HSBC. Before joining HSBC Neil was Managing Director of the SHL Greater China operation before becoming the SHL Asia Pacific International Business VP. His first role as a Psychologist was with the Business Psychology Group in BT UK in 1988. After 5 years with BT, he joined SHL in the UK before moving to Hong Kong with SHL in 1996. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society and co-founded the Division of Industrial & Organisational Psychology (DIOP) in 1999, continuously serving on the DIOP EXCO including 2 years as President. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.  

 

Neil has a passion for helping individuals and organisations to achieve their goals, and is a leading authority in the areas of senior executive assessment, high potential identification, assessment and development centres, and coaching. He leads Human Scope’s client advisory services in the areas of talent management strategy development and implementation, and executive development across the full spectrum of leadership progression. He has a particular interest in helping executives reach the full levels of their potential and in supporting senior leaders to achieve and sustain their success and wellbeing.
